5 Day Clinical Practicum – Houston 2025

5-day clinical practicum being held in Houston Texas, from 3rd to 7th of November 2025 .   This practicum will be open to participants, who would like to further develop their skills in Crucible therapy.  It will also be a great opportunity to meet up and connect with other participants who share the common goal of enhancing their skills in Crucible therapy.  In addition, there will be opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and enjoy the idyllic surroundings of the workshop location.

About the practicum:

The practicum will start on Sunday 2nd of November at 7 pm with an evening meal (Optional).  The actual dates for the workshop are 3-7 November starting at 9 am each day and finishing at 5 pm.  There will be 75 minutes for lunch.  The practicum will finish at 4 pm on November 7.

The Practicum will focus on developing practical skills, and removing blind spots and places where you “get stuck.”  There are opportunities to practice “being the therapist” in clinical simulations and receive feedback and more specific attention from the workshop leader and to consider the “person of the therapist.”

Content of the Practicum focuses around difficult cases submitted by participants involving sexual problems mixed with relationship difficulties.  All participants are invited to submit a real case with which they have or had difficulty. (Although not all cases will be used during the Practicum, all will influence lecture and discussion topics).

Case write-ups consist of 2-3 pages describing the case, the nature of the problem in treatment, why the therapist thinks this problem is occurring, what the therapist has done to deal with the problem, and where the therapist is stuck.  Please include a few paragraphs of typical dialogue from the therapy session.  Selected cases are deconstructed, problems are identified, and new solutions proposed.  Participants will have opportunities to practice making new interventions in therapy simulations.  Practicum group process provides a supportive environment encouraging professional and personal growth.  Cases need to be submitted by 20th of March 2025.
